CBD Delivery Methods

Ingest, Inhale or use Topically?

There are 5 common ways you can take CBD. Let's explore the ways!

1. Inhalation: By using a vaporizer, the CBD enters the bloodstream directly from the lungs. The onset is immediate, lasting anywhere from 2-4 hours. Because the onset is immediate remember to be careful with the inhalation.

2. Sublingual: CBD oils, tinctures, concentrates are taken sublingually under the tongue this way the CBD enters the bloodstream through the mucous membrane. The onset is 15-60 minutes, lasting anywhere from 4-6 hours.

3. Ingestion: Taking CBD in a capsule, food or beverage. By swallowing the oil it is passed through the digestive system and metabolizes in the liver. The absorption is slow and erratic, the onset is 30 minutes - 2 hours or more, lasting anywhere from 6-8 hours. It is important to have accurate dosing, testing, and consistency because it can take so long to feel the effects.

4. Topical: Creams, lotions, and salves are specifically for targetting pain, soothing and healing the skin. Only local effect is felt, it does not enter the bloodstream. The onset is 15 minutes, lasting 2-4 hours.

5.Transdermal: Patches are designed to be absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream. The onset is 15 minutes, lasting 12 hours.

Well, there you go! Decide on the method you prefer and remember to go slow especially if you are using a vape pen or ingesting. Also, speak to your physician if you are unsure about the dosage or have a medical condition.
